A visit to Belarus

During the spring of 2007, Ole Munk redesigned the Belarusian business paper Belorusy i Rynok. This project provided us with an opportunity to visit the country and, among other things, experience the huge contrast between urban and rural parts of Europe’s last dictatorship (we hope).
The top photo shows the view from our hotel room in the centre of the capital, Minsk. The one below is from a country house in a Belarusian village near the Berezina river – close to the spot, by the way, where general Napoleon suffered one of his gravest defeats in 1812.
We were invited to a magnificent dinner, with lots of ”moonshine” (home-distilled vodka), in the company of the warm, generous, and music-loving inhabitants of the village.
